Dr Shiladitya Sengupta from Harvard

Dr. Shiladitya Sengupta is an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Director of the Center for Engineered Therapeutics at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Principal Investigator at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Asst. Prof of Health Sciences and Technology at MIT. His laboratory focuses on translational research, bridging clinical needs with basic science, drug discovery, and biological engineering, with a special interest in drug response, tumor stromal interactions and metastasis. Dr. Sengupta founded Vyome Therapeutics Inc, Mitra Biotech, Akamara Therapeutics and Cerulean Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: CRLX). He serves as the chairman of the scientific advisory board of Advamedica, a medical device company.

Dr. Sengupta received his early training in medical pharmacology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, his PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Nehru and British Chevening Scholar at Trinity College, and his fellowship in Biological Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Sengupta has been recognized as one of the top 35 Innovators of the world under 35 by MIT Technology Review Magazine, and is a recipient of the Era of Hope Scholar Award from the US Department of Defense, Coulter Foundation Career Award, and Young Scientist awards from the American

Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics. In his free time, Dr. Sengupta is passionate about institution building, music, reading and badminton.
