TERMS OF REFERENCE
The David James Trust Fund Committee is a standing committee of the Department of Pharmacology tasked with reviewing and managing the finances held within the David James Trust Fund in line with the terms of the benefactio
Membership:
The make-up of the Committee will be the Head of Department of Pharmacology and two persons nominated by the Faculty Board of Biology. As at August 2017:
Head of Department (Chair)
Dr Lesley MacVinish (to October 2017)
Dr Matthew Harper (to October 2019)
plus
Departmental Administrator (Secretary)
Responsibility:
1. To ensure that funds within the Trust Fund are spent in accordance with the wishes of the late-David James:
The income and capital of the Fund shall be available for:
a: The provision of one or more studentships to be called David James Studentships for those undertaking postgraduate research degrees in the Department of Pharmacology;
b: The furtherance of research and teaching in the Department of Pharmacology
2. Make decisions in respect of the best use of funds, i.e. the purchase/sale of Units.
Meetings:
The Committee will meet annually in August.
Ad Hoc meetings can be called as required.
Reporting to:
Academic Staff Meeting for ratification of decisions
Minutes:
Will be available to all members of the Department via the departmental website.
