Department of Pharmacology

 

The Department of Pharmacology is happy to welcome a small number of visitors each year, depending on available space. To be accepted, you must demonstrate that:

•    Your proposed programme of work will clearly benefit from being located within the Department, attached to one of the research groups
•    The collaboration will offer benefits to the host research group in terms of sharing expertise or working collaboratively on projects of mutual interest

If you are interested in joining the Department as a visitor, you will first need to gain the support of a current academic staff member. You should discuss this informally before making an application.

All visitors to the to the Department of Pharmacology are required to pay an administration fee of £50 in advance of their arrival.  The account details to transfer the balance to can be found on this link.  Please can you identify your transfer with the reference “PL-VISITOR(YOUR NAME)”. Proof of payment will be required before your visit to the Department can commence; a receipt or screenshot of the payment is acceptable as proof of payment.

Students or staff members already part of the University of Cambridge are not required to pay the administration fee.


Application Process

1.    Identify academic staff member willing to collaborate with you and get their initial approval to host.
2.    Download the application form.
3.    Complete the form and send it to your chosen academic staff member to sign as a supporting academic. Make sure the completed version is returned to you.
4.    Send HR the signed application form and your CV.
5.    On successful application, HR will send documentation to you.
6.    Pay the £50 administration fee before your arrival. Send proof of payment to HR.

Facilities

As a visitor, you can attend lectures and seminars at the University, use appropriate departmental facilities, and participate in Departmental life.

Supervision

The offer of visitor status does not include formal supervision of your work whilst in the Department, but you are welcome to discuss your work informally.

Accommodation and integration
We regret to say that the Department is unable to help with accommodation. Visitors are welcome to contact the University Accommodation Service, who may be able to offer advice.
