Dr Graham Ladds

Congratulations to Dr Graham Ladds on his award of a prestigious Royal Society Industry Fellowship in collaboration with AstraZeneca.

The fellowship, which is for 4 years, will enable Graham to make use of recent advances in genome editing, using native human cells, combined with the development of highly sensitive readouts of signalling (using bioluminescence) to generate novel cell lines that faithfully report the nuances of G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signalling events.

These cell lines will represent vital new tools to drive improvements in drug effectiveness and thereby reducing off-target actions often associated with unwanted side effects.

During the four years Graham will gain invaluable industrial expertise within AstraZeneca, a world-leading pharmaceutical company based in Cambridge.
