Department of Pharmacology

 

On the 21st of March, we hosted 36 people at Corpus Christi College for a half-day of talks, networking and activities. We aimed to showcase the range of research and activities we undertake at the Department, while also giving Industry representatives space to demonstrate their company and interests.

We heard from:

Who covered topics as broad as Opportunities for Academia:Industry Collaborations, Identifying novel binding pockets in protein drug targets, Targets and methods for controlling pain, and Applying systems biology and AI approaches to GPCR signalling.

Plenty of time was reserved for coffee and networking throughout the event, giving everyone ample opportunity to chat with one another.

We ended with a vigorous roundtable discussion on visions of the future of collaborations, followed by a pub quiz and dinner at the College.

This event was very well received, with all participants greatly appreciating the chance to hear from Department Group Leaders and Industry representatives. We hope this leads to more collaborations in the future.
